Our next host is Dan Selinger, Head of Communications (Students and the Academic Administration Division), The University of Oxford.

Dan will be leading a discussion on institutions’ communications around the UK leaving the EU.

Join us for this half day HANDLING CRISIS COMMUNICATIONS IN EDUCATION workshop for PR and communications professionals working in the education sector.

In this fully interactive workshop, you will face a simulated live and unfolding scenario where you can hone your communication and crisis management skills. Working with fellow participants, you will develop your responses to press, social media, staff and students, as the incident unfolds. Sharing experiences and testing yourself, this session will sharpen your knowledge, your skills and develop your confidence.

Leading the workshop will be Justin K. Shaw, Chief Higher Education Consultant, Communications Management and Dr Edina Harbinja, Senior Lecturer in Media and Privacy Law , Aston University.

The workshop will be followed by a panel debate chaired by Justin who will be joined by experienced communications professionals including Ben Verinder, Managing Director, Chalkstream - an agency delivering reputation and market research, management consultancy and public relations services to the education sector and Nick Linford, Editor of FE Week, as well as Vicky Pearson, Head of Corporate Communications, University of Reading and Dee Reid, Director of External Relations, Leeds Beckett University.

Speakers and panel members will cover crisis scenarios in the higher education, further education and schools sectors.

CIPR members attending this workshop will earn 5 CPD points.
